International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day Celebration  

International yoga day was celebrated in the primary and secondary section on the 21st of June 2017. The day began with a special prayer service where the students spoke about the need to imbibe the yogic way of life as a means to daily fitness and relaxation. Mrs Usha Khurana, a trained yoga instructor and a retired Loreto hindi teacher spoke about how the various asanas and pranayams not only helped to keep the body healthy but could also prevent certain ailments. Under the supervision and guidance of the P.E. teacher Mrs. Sangeeta Kothekar and Mrs. Anita Bhandare, students performed various pranayam techniques like Anulom-Vilom, Brahmari, Omkar, Kapalbhati, Ujjayi, etc. Suryanamaskar and Chandranamaskar were shown to the pupils. The students participated and were actively involved in doing the asanas that were demonstrated like Halasan, Bhujangasan, Makrasan, Tadasan, Parvatasan, Chakrasan, Marjariasana, Sarvangasana, etc.
