Farewell to beloved Mrs. Hilda
"On your retirement day,
All we want to say
The years you put in was your calling,
So our Dear Mrs.Hilda Thanks for everything"
With hearts filled with gratitude & love, the Management, Staff & Students bid farewell to dear Mrs. Hilda D’souza, Teacher and Headmistress of the Secondary Section who completed 34 years of committed service. To mark this special occasion, the school organized a special farewell function on 11 th of April, 2012.
Mrs. Hilda was welcomed by the school band & was escorted by the Manager, Sr.Geetha & the Staff of Loreto Convent School. Our secondary section girls welcomed her traditionally . The programme began with the lighting of the lamp. The School Captains conducted a very meaningful prayer service asking God for His blessings and the gift of herself to the school for the past many years. Sayli Parshurami (IX-
Sr.Geetha in her speech expressed sincere and heartfelt thanks for the selfless service rented to the institution for the past 34 years stating that Mrs. Hilda’s contribution to the school has been tremendous not only towards academic excellence but in all other areas. She also mentioned that Mrs. Hilda had a soft corner for the poor children and her greatness lies in her humility and simplicity. Finally, she concluded her speech with an Irish blessing, wished her a peaceful retired life and found it difficult to say Goodbye.
This was followed by presentation of floral bouquets & handmade greeting cards from students representation from each class. On behalf of all the students, Achala Parasher (Class X) spoke and thanked Mrs. Hilda for being such a wonderful person to all the Loretians.
Mrs. Hilda in her vote of thanks said that she indeed felt lucky to be a part of this esteemed institution and also to be guided by all the Sisters. Holding back tears was difficult as she spoke.
Students of Class IX sang a very beautiful Farewell song. Sr.Geetha then thanked the teachers and students for organizing the programme
With the Staff
The Staff gathered together in Mary Ward’s Hall to show their love and express their gratitude for Mrs. Hilda through prayer and a blessing song. It was an emotional & touching moment as few of them went down the memory lane to tell what they fondly remembered of Mrs. Hilda. She then headed to plant a sapling in the school garden. This was followed by a sumptuous meal.
