Expressions 2012

17th December 2012 will go down in the memory lane of all Loretians as a very beautiful day. On this day, the Secondary students showcased their cultural as well as academic talents before the R.C.F. officials, other dignitaries and parents to the best of their ability.

For the inaugural function, the students presented very well choreographed Bharat Natyam, Bihu dance, Goan dance and rare combination of Lavani, and Hip Hop dance. The Audience appreciated it wholeheartedly.

Then came the projects, based on the various academic subjects. The students were divided into subject-wise groups such as English, Hindi, Marathi, History, Geography, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science and Art & Craft. Each group had students from Std. V to Std. X. Students sought help from the library and internet for getting information about the topic allotted to them. Beautiful charts, drawings, models, working models, Recitation, dramatization were included in their presentation. All subject teachers were in their classrooms to help out their groups. All the dignitaries took interest and asked questions to the students. Our well prepared students answered them enthusiastically.

The highlight of the event was presented by Mrs. Smita Mhaskar, a very talented Art & Craft teacher. Under her able guidance beautiful handwork in drawing, painting, modeling, craft, rangoli, needlework, paper folding, knitting, paper mash and best out of waste were done by the students. Everybody was delighted to see our budding artists.

Mrs. Rajan, wife of the Chairman and Managing Director of Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilisers Ltd. was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. Mrs. Sunita Vijh compared the programme very well. This memorable event could not have been possible without our enthusiastic, energetic and hard-working Principal, Sr. Geetha. Under her able guidance Mrs. Sulekha Unnikrishnan, the Secondary Head Mistress, Mrs. Shyamala Joshi, the co – ordinator of the primary section,  and all teachers of Loreto Convent School worked very hard to make the exhibition a grand event.
