18th September, 2009 was a special day for the students and staff of Loreto Convent, Chembur, because Sr. Dorothy, the Superior General of the Congregation of St. Joseph of the Apparition was visiting our school for the first time in India and our school was the first stop on her itinerary.

With great excitement the children and teachers of the primary section were prepared to give her a very special welcome at the morning assembly.  As Sr. Dorothy entered the assembly hall accompanied by Sr. Rene and tots of Std I in costumes, greeted her in the traditional Indian style.  A welcome song expressed the joy with which we awaited her visit. Various performances and display of all the physical training imparted in school were included in the programme,  which followed.  The grand finale was the dance based on the theme of National integration.  The programme presented by the primary section tried to give Sr.  Dorothy a comprehensive view of our academic, physical and cultural activities in school.

Next day, o

The girls dressed in saris showered petals of flowers on her as well as on the high officials of the RCF. They were then presented with a bouquet of flowers by the Head Girl and Vice-head Girl of our school.

The programme started with some beautiful songs sung by the students of class X.  After this, began the journey of colourful and splendid performances by the students of various classes

The Punjabi dance by Std VI students was done with utmost vigour.
