Farewell to our dear Sister
Who, we will be missing.
Sr. Geetha who had taken over as the Manager of Loreto Convent School, Chembur in 2010 has been transferred to Jharkhand. With hearts filled with gratitude and love, the Loreto family bid farewell to dear Sr. Geetha, under the able guidance and leadership of whom the school witnessed many changes and growth. to mark this special occasion, the school organised a special farewell function on the 10th of July, 2014.
Sr. Geetha was welcomed by the school band and was escorted by Sr. Bernedette , the Headmistress of Secondary Section Mrs. Sulekha and the staff of Loreto Convent School. The Secondary section girls welcomed Sister traditionally.
The programme began with a prayer dance followed by a very meaningful prayer service, conducted by the school captains, asking God for his abundant grace and blessings to be showered on our dear Sister.
Mrs. Anita then read a beautiful poem that she had specially composed for Sr. Geetha.
This was followed by a dance medley by the students of the Secondary Section that included old melodious Hindi and Tamil songs.
On behalf of the staff, Sister was presented with a bouquet of flowers, a card and gift as a token of appreciation.
Sister was responsible for revamping the School building and its surrounding, installing CCTV cameras, setting up the Loreto website, setting up a state of the art AV Room and regularly updating the library to name a few. She was also incharge of the spiritual growth of the children and regularly conducted classes for the same. Being a good singer herself and a music lover, she taught the children many songs. Sister was loved as she was approachable, helpful and humble. A true perfectionist who put in her best in everything she did.
Mrs. Sulekha in her speech thanked Sr. for all that she has done. She found it difficult to say goodbye.
Sr. Geetha in her vote of thanks said that she indeed felt lucky to be a part of the Loreto Family, Chembur and assured us of her constant support through her prayer.
Holding back tears was difficult as she spoke.
The school choir concluded the programme with a very beautiful Farewell song.
Sister then headed to plant a sapling in the school garden.
"You held our hearts for a momemt,
But you will remain in our hearts forever"
